If you’ve ever clicked ‘play’ on The Soundtrack to... you’ve more than likely listened to BBC 6Music. If you haven’t, Do. It. Now. The DG (write your own meanings) of the BBC has decided that we don’t need 6Music anymore and wants to close it down. Thanks! But it’s not too late. You can fight the festering strategy review he’s secreted. The best place to direct your energies is towards the BBC itself. Then of course, there’s the Facebook group. So do us a favour, go listen. And do battle.
So on to March, and was it really a year ago that we were listening to Doves’ ‘Kingdom of Rust’ and Animal Collective’s ‘My Girls’? A glance back at The Soundtrack to March 2009 says so. It’s the first anniversary of The Soundtrack to... exciting stuff. 12 months on and now with monthly plays of around 2000, I think we’ll continue, yeah? So, this is the Soundtrack to March 2010.
