If you were reading the tech/media/music blogs just after your tea yesterday evening then you will have no doubt read the news that the Spotify iPhone app has finally been approved by Apple. PaidContent were the first to break the news with this quote from an Apple spokesperson:
“The current status as of right now is it’s been approved and we hope to add the app to the more than 65,000 apps on the app store very soon. We’ve been in constant communication working with the developer and have already notified Spotify that the app will be in the app store very soon.”
Typically, Apple haven’t given a firm date for when the app will be released for download. At least we can take comfort in the fact that it’s officially been approved though, great news all round. In case you missed it, our earlier review of the app in detail, can be found here.
So what does that mean for ShareMyPlaylists.com?
Well, I can confirm that we’re working on an iPhone app to compliment the Spotify app, just as this site compliments Spotify on the web, we want to do the same for mobile devices too. We believe that when you’re using Spotify on the go, 1-click access to thousands of ready made playlists will be a really handy feature. We’ll also try to incorporate our social media community functions into the app too, so you can use your ShareMyPlaylists.com account on the move.
