Playlist reviews: SMP House Club

Following on from SMP Jazz Club and SMP Soul Club, we turn our attention to the very best of your new and classic house playlists – perfect for the weekend. Check them out.

Deep House

Right, then. So, if you prefer your repetitive beat-based music a little deeper, sexier and more musical than the din peddled by Canadians in mouse's heads, pot-bellied Swedes or ageing, floppy-haired Frenchman, this is the playlist for you. House music at its finest on offer here, from the likes of Shlomi Aber, Solomun, Nick Curly and Jimpster. Superb. A classic from the archives from webdowser

Chill-out Deep House

Whether you're raving or behaving this weekend, you need this playlist in you're life. Perfect for a pre-party, after-party or sitting around in your pants being too lazy to party, this mixtape throws together a superb collection of house music that's deeper than a coal miner's bait box. That's tracks from Matt Tolfrey & Inxec, Milton Jackson, Moby, Ben Watt, Efdemin and a killer remix of Code 718's Equinox from Henrik Schwarz. Thanks, Tjerk Akkerman

Deep House for Summer Siestas

On-form Reggie Prim has pulled an absolute beauty out of the bag: "Beautiful deep house, chill and ambient." Perfect music to soundtrack your pre-party, after-party or, as Reggie recommends, to listen to while "doing absolutely nothing." Sounds good to us.

Afterhours

We end with a brand new playlist, created by Matthew De Grie, full of afterhours deep house. Some incredible productions and remixes here – Maya Jane Coles, Edu Imberton, Digitaline and Joris Voorn to name but a few. A must-hear mixtape for house heads.

Long live the mixtape!
