Here compiled as best I could the closest thing to a proper set list from the hacienda as I could manage using spotify alone
This is the sort of music you would hear on the floor in the hac’ Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays, though it was nude night which turned the hacienda fortunes around and changed the face of British modern culture
what some probably don’t understand is just how eclectic the set list was (though eclectic was a term I hadn’t heard back then) with Chicago house alongside British interpretations, west coast hip hop through to blissed out Balearic offerings the dance floor twisted and turned to italo house, local offerings from Manchester faves like 808 state (and sorry there is no pacific state at spotify?? !) to Gerald Simpson
Stand out tracks have to be Richie havens going back to my roots massive from Blackburn too Blackpool from Warrington too knusford, massive home grown favourites from xpansions and n-joi alongside adamski to Adonis and ralphi rosario
Here we have the wooden tops with there anti war why why why chant a Balearic masterpiece and true early Ibiza smash join in the chant from nitzer ebb
If you find anymore northwest/Manchester real house classics hiding away on spotify please add em mail me at suc68@btopenworld no prizes though sorry

Spot on mate, never liked Bassheads so you lose points for that but otherwise pretty good.. takes me back to nude circa 1991
.. lost on the stage, wondering why they dismantled the center stage cos squirting water pistols at them lot over there used to be great fun..
also could do with Beat Club - Security in it

All these tracks were already big down south at clubs like Shoom & Spectrum. Not surprising - all the balearic stuff was copied lock, stock & barrel from Alfredo’s sets at Amnesia in Ibiza. So the ‘changed the face of British music’ is a bit of an exaggeration really.
