Ali - Vocals Bruce - Bass Trev - Keys Chris - Beats http://www.myspace.com/vivacityuk VIVA CITY...an über-cool four-piece mashing d'n'b-flavoured electro beats with alt-indie sounds. Hailing from Newcastle, these glam-punk upstarts craft raucous tunes that demand your attention. 2009 is Viva City's busiest year so far, with the release of third single 'Behold' due on November 23rd. An urgent mix of dirty guitars and drum+base, fused with Viva City's trademark electronic wizardry, this storming track is a surefire club hit.
Produced by Kosheen DJs, Viva City have already had a hit UK single, and impressed the judges as finalists in the 2009 Camden Crawl Indie Idle Competition. The band has been making waves on the UK festival scene and Europe's club scene as well as headlining top London club nights. The band's second single 'Have You Ever Felt So Messed Up?' was released in July 2009 - a hedonistic synth-laden track laced with dark trippy electro breaks, visualised with a grimy attention-grabbing burlesque-inspired video. Playing alongside Friendly Fires, Mystery Jets and Ladyhawke, Viva City premiered HYEFSMU at the Evolution Weekender Festival to a riotous reception.
They have also supported Maximo Park, Just Jack & Bombay Bicycle Club in recent months. Fans have also enjoyed Viva City's 'wonderfully over-blown synths' mashed with d'n'b-influenced baselines at this year's prestigious O2 Academy Music Group's Academy Live Tour shows across England this autumn. Released in June 08, Viva City's debut UK single 'KATE BUSH' stormed into the UK Indie Charts at number 4. This edgy track got great reviews, and airplay on national BBC Radio and XFM. ...show less
