Timothy Brown
Timothy Brown was born in 1946. A chorister at Westminster Abbey, he was a Musical Scholar at Dean Close School, Cheltenham, before becoming an alto Choral Scholar at King's College, Cambridge, under Sir David Willcocks. Whilst at Cambridge he read the Music Tripos and gained his first experience as a choral director. From 1968 to 1969 he was a Lay Clerk at New College, Oxford, after which he taught in schools for ten years, latterly as Director of Music at Oundle School. ...show more
Timothy Brown was born in 1946. In 1979 he succeeded John Rutter as Director of Music at Clare College, where he is also a Fellow and Director of Studies in Music. After leaving Cambridge, Tim Brown sang for some years with the professional vocal ensemble The Scholars and with several of the leading choirs in London, including the Monteverdi Choir.
