The Cannibals
The Cannibals started in 1977 with Mike Spenser , who had recently left pub rock band The Count Bishops. Their first single " Good Guys" " Nothing Takes The Place Of You " was John Peel's record of the week and was found in his box of favourite records at no 69 .Peter Gunn , Peter Donnelly and Tony Oliver then left to form The Inmates with Bill Hurley and since then nearly a hundred people played in the band. Some became relatively famous ( Wreckless Eric ). The sound of the band evolved through the different formations and what started as a Chuck Berry inspired band moved slowly to their own brand of psychedelic , garage punk mix which they called trash. ...show more

They were the inspirations for The Night OF Trash of the 80's where they played with The Prisoners , The Milkshakes , The Sting Rays. The band released 7 lp's , 2 cd's and a hanful of singles. Their last realease "Brunch With " was a compilation of 80's unreleased sessions and was originally pressed only for Japan where they toured in january 2008. In the last couple of years the band has headlined festivals in Spain , Belgium, Holland and are in the process of recording a new Lp .. ...show less
