1 song from 1996). Rhett Akins had a band by the time he was eleven. In 1992, he moved to Nashville to follow his dream of becoming a country music star. He received a record deal from Decca Records after they heard a few of his demos.

He debuted his first album A Thousand Memories in 1994. Two of the songs on the album made it into the top 40 of the charts, but it wasn't until a year later that he made it big.
