There are at least 2 artists under the name Philter: 1. Philter is a Norwegian electronic music project by Magnus Gangstad Jørgensen, started in 2005. Often heard in the songs are orchestral pieces mixed with soothing beats which makes up the Philter sound. Also recognizable are the melodies, often dark but always catchy.

Philter has gained a large following from the Norwegian music site for unsigned artists, called Urørt. On May 2011, he released his debut album, "The Beautiful Lies". 2. Philter is a progressive trance act based in northen Germany.

Having a background in sound engineering, the step to becoming a producer and live-act was a natural progression. Technical ability, experience and some studies in popular music paved the way for this promising project.
