He composed several enduring pop hits from the 1970s, including "An Old Fashioned Love Song", a U.S. top-ten hit for the band Three Dog Night in late 1971, and a number of hits for the Carpenters, most notably "We've Only Just Begun", which has since become a cover band standard and de rigueur for weddings. In 1974, Williams starred in the satirical musical film Phantom of the Paradise, for which he also composed music. A frequent cowriter of Williams was musician Kenneth Ascher; their songs together included popular children's favorite "Rainbow Connection", sung by Kermit The Frog in The Muppet Movie. Williams has announced a collaboration with Daft Punk in 2012. 2) Paul "Hucklebuck" Wiliams (July 13, 1915 - September 14, 2002) was an American rhythm and blues bandleader, songwriter and saxophonist.

He composed "The Hucklebuck", a twelve-bar blues that also spawned the dance craze of the same name. 3) Paul Williams (born August 7, 1992 in Nelson, New Zealand) is a rapper who has quickly become a local celebrity due to his musical talents and clever rhymes.
