San Francisco based Noah D (aka Noah Dickinson) is regarded as one of today's top dubstep DJs and producers. His diverse sound can simply be described as heavy hypnotic bass music. With over 10 years of production experience, first starting in hip-hop and drum & bass, he seamlessly blends genres and pushes the boundaries in the ever-evolving dubstep/bass music scenes. "I've always had a diverse palate for music.
My parents always had music playing when I grew up and I used to be obsessed with the first boombox I had. When I picked up a guitar at age 18, I never put it down." Noah D started his electronic music career in the late 90's after listening to drum & bass artists such as Boymerang and Photek. In 2001 he started producing and by 2008 had already released music on well known drum & bass labels such as Renegade Recordings, Human Imprint, Trouble On Vinyl and Pure Vibez all the while receiving worldwide support from some of the genres leading acts such as DJ Hype and Dieselboy. After being turned onto dubstep from longtime friends and roommates Babylon System, Noah D's appreciation for the genre increased and the three started collaborating on music.
"I've always been more drawn to slow heavy music as opposed to fast heavy music whether electronic or not. Even when I made DNB I worked on a lot of 1/2 step beats so dubstep was a natural progression for me." Together they produced the track "Examination of Time" and the second phase of Noah D's electronic music career began. In 2009 his dubstep track "Seeeriousss" received praise from some of the genres key players (Skream, N-Type and Plastician) saw radio play on BBC's radio 1, 1xtra, Rinse FM and Kiss and became a full-fledged dubstep anthem. Since then, Noah D has had a slew of releases on various labels such as Subway, H.E.N.C.H., Liondub Intl. ...show less
