Joseph Hill “Joss” Whedon (born June 23, 1964) is a writer, director, executive producer, and creator of several television series, most famously Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse. Additionally he has written/co-written two musicals. One an episode of Buffy, "Once more with feeling" and the other a stand-alone web release "Dr. Horribles sing-along blog". Many of Whedon's projects, as well as Whedon himself, enjoy a cult status.

He was educated at Winchester College in England and received a film degree from Wesleyan University in 1987.
