With the addition of keys player Oli Wennink the band were complete. After a monthly residence at Boogaloo Bar, the band were spotted by Nude founder Saul Galpern (the man who discovered Suede) who leapt at the opportunity to take the Hoodlums debut release "beat bop" to the masses. Taking influences from Fun Boy Three to Ian Dury and The Blockheads, Prince to Lou Reed, Charles Mingus , Charlie Parker, De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest as well as the primitive Alan Lomax recording, Hoodlums take us back to the prime of late 70's punk-pop with a unique modern twist, creating a sound, style and scene that is entirely their own.. ...show less
