There is more than one band with this name... 1) Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Disembodied established itself as one of the heaviest bands in hardcore and one of the pioneers of hc/metal fusion during its career. Formed in 1995, the band's first release would be "Existence in Suicide" on Furface Records. "The Confession" Disembodied's follow-up 7", would be published by Moo Cow Records.

Shortly after, the band would join forces with Ferret Music , releasing a full-length, "Diablerie", split with Brother's Keeper "Oxymoron" and the CDEP "If God Only Knew The Rest Were Dead". Prior to the band's demise, Disembodied would record its final release, "Heretic" for Edison Recordings (Coalsece, Overcast). Fans of low-tuned guitars and almost sludgy metallic hardcore should check out Disembodied. Ex-members of the group formed now defunct Martyr AD, Devilinside, and Enskye.

In 2008 Disembodied reformed and played for the first time in 9 years at Burning Fight Festival in Chicago in 2008. Disembodied's "Psalms of Sheol," a collection of rare, out of print and unreleased material saw the light of day in August 2009 on Prime Directive Records. Thirteen songs from one of the heaviest, darkest and most innovative hardcore bands of the 90's, re-mastered by the band to sound louder and heavier than ever.
