Gustavo Plaza (Maracay, Venezuela. Sept 12, 1986) DJ / PRODUCER. Demencio first got into electronic music around the year 2004 when he was living in the city of Miami, there he started to listen to Dance and House music late at night in the radio stations, but it wasn't really a passion for him since he mainly listened to Metal, Punk Rock, Indie, Reggae, amongst other genres... But when he moved back to his native land Venezuela, thanks to some friends he started to listen to Techno music, specially Hardtechno, having this last genre a big impact on him...
He fell in love with Hardtechno, finding this style really interesting because of its particular aggressive and fast sound. Demencio started to toy around with computer software's such as Virtual DJ and Traktor, and he found the art of mixing really fun, so much that he wanted to learn how to spin with vinyl records, but before he could afford any expensive equipment such as turntables, using the notebook computer he owned, and thanks to some friends who showed him the software Reason, he started to learn how to make his own music... At first it wasn't easy, he spent a lot of time toying around with the software until he learned in a decent way how to use it, and now he has become a big fan of producing his own Hardtechno and sometimes softer Techno tracks. Now Demencio has been producing for a long time and also after saving up for a while he was able to obtain his mixing equipment.
When he moved to the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, he joined a collective formed by Deejays and Producers called Old Skull Collective, and since joining them he has been able to play at many parties, always looking to improve and give sets full of energetic and explosive music, mixing his own tracks together with tracks from other great producers... 2009 was a great year for Demencio, his music being released on different digital Hardtechno labels such as Technomoshpit Records from USA (Owned by Wilcox), Speaker Destroyer Shit Records from Hungary (Owned by Repeet), and Thick Hard Movements from The Netherlands (Owned by Triplex aka Boiling Energy). On September 2009, Demencio decided to start his own digital Hardtechno label called Double Sense Records, the first of its kind in Venezuela, with the main goal being to give chance to new local and international underground artists to release their music. 4 releases in 2009 marked the way for Double Sense Records, receiving good feedback in different electronic music forums... ...show less
