Darkness Brings the Cold spun out of a much older, bigger project called The Forest Children based on Chicago's Southwest side. Dennis Hellman and Shawn C. Baker are the main perpetrators, using a shared love of horror movies, altered states of consciousness and dark and powerful music to fuel a musical endeavor that has lasted almost a decade and more than 3000 miles of distance.
