Danny Gottlieb, born in New York in 1954, as a pupil of Mel Lewis and Joe Morello became one of the most popular drummers in jazz and contemporary music.
Best known as the drummer of the Pat Metheny Group in '70-'80, he also performed or recorded with the most important musicians from Gil Evans to Sting, from Mark Egan to Branford Marsalis.
