Da Mudman was born in Vallejo, California, the eldest son with 9 brothers and sisters. His musical influences are Bob Marley, John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Stevie Wonder,Sly and the Family Stone, & Curtis Mayfield, & Quincy Jones, among others. Embracing Rastafari at the age of 19 in 1973, Da Mudness never played music in his life until after emerging from a coma in 1993. While in that comatic state, he was touched deeply by the spirituals and singing that he heard. Thus began the journey to discover his soular inspiration, and at that point began to become self taught as music is his philosophical vitamin. Welcome to he musical world of Da Mudman. His style is a fusion of all of his musical tastes, ranging from jazz, soul, reggae, and RnB. He has always loved film scores, and loves to put his music in motion via videos and independent films. He currently resides in Sedona Arizona where he is an independent documentary filmmaker and can be found often hiking the many trails in this area.
