Calamus arrived brandishing a 1997 demo 'Justanothersweettrip', debuting commercially with the track 'Alone' featured on an Aberration fanzine compilation CD of 1998. Vocalist Ralf Burkart and guitarist Jens also had a side project BLACKTOP which featured on the Daredevil 'Burn The Street Vol. 1' compilation album. CALAMUS had their second album, 'These Days', issued by the infamous I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison label in 2001. Berserker Records would keep the momentum going with a split 7" shared with Americans Slow Horse, CALAMUS covering a SLOW HORSE track and vice versa.
