            Introduction: What started as a chance meeting at the 2007 Trance Energy has, in just under 3 years solidified into one of the freshest, most exciting electronic dance acts on the scene. With it has come a new multifarious trance sound that, globally, has begun to shatter underground clubs, arenas and festivals. Banding together under the name W&W has seen the collective careers of Wardt van der Harst & Willem Van Hanegem go into overdrive... As spinners they've delivered due damage to club nights and festivals and in 2009 their A-list-hammered track portfolio saw them conclusively tip the 'next big thing' scales.

          • W.A.S.P

            W.A.S.P. is an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 which gained notoriety for its "shock rock"-image, music and live performances. The band, formed in Los Angeles, California, initially consisted of Blackie Lawless, Rik Fox, Randy Piper and Tony Richards. The band initially became famous for its raunchy and at times shocking live shows; Lawless was known to tie semi-naked models to a torture rack and hurl raw meat into the audience.

          • W.A.S.P.

          • Wagner

            Richard Wagner; 22 May 1813, Leipzig, Germany - 13 February 1883, Venice, Italy) was a German composer, conductor, theatre director and essayist, primarily known for his operas (or "music dramas", as they were later called). Unlike most other opera composers, Wagner wrote both the music and libretto for every one of his works. Wagner's compositions, particularly those of his later period, are notable for contrapuntal texture, rich chromaticism, harmonies and orchestration, and elaborate use of leitmotifs: musical themes associated with particular characters, locales or plot elements. Wagner pioneered advances in musical language, such as extreme chromaticism and quickly shifting tonal centres, which greatly influenced the development of European classical music.

          • Wagon Christ

            Wagon Christ is Luke Francis Vibert. Also known as Plug, Butler Kiev, Ace of Clubs, Amen Andrews, Kerrier District. He is from Cornwall, UK. After spending years working in the Our Price record store in Falmouth, his first release was in 1994 as Wagon Christ, he contributed the track 'gas fish' to the 'Volume 9' compilation.

          • Wailing Souls

            In the early days of the Wailing Souls, the first name that the group came up with in the late 60's was the Renegades. This group consisted of Winston 'Pipe' Matthews on lead vocals, Lloyd 'Bread' McDonald, and George 'Buddy' Haye. This line-up recorded backing vocals for an Ernest Ranglin album before breaking up in 1968. 'Pipe' and 'Bread' teamed up with two other singers after that, Oswald Downes and Norman Davis, and recorded the single "Gold Digger" for producer, Lloyd "Matador" Daley.

          • Waka Flocka Flame

            Juaquin Malphurs, (born May 31 1986) better known by his stage name Waka Flocka Flame, is an American rapper signed to So Icey Entertainment. He is the son of Debra Antney, Gucci Mane's former manager and CEO of So Icey/Mizay Entertainment. Malphurs moved with his family from Jamaica, Queens, New York to Riverdale, Georgia when he was nine years old. The name "Waka" was given to him by family members.

          • Wakey!Wakey!

            Wakey!Wakey! is for the most part Michael Grubbs, as he plays piano and sings the vocals. However, the band is not a solo project and incorporates many more musicians to round out the sound, including strings, drums and horns. They hail from New York and release their music through Family Records. Michael Grubbs also plays "Grubbs" on the CW's One Tree Hill, a role that debuted November 9th.

          • Waldeck

            Klaus Waldeck's musical career started in Vienna, Austria when he took piano lessons at the age of six. When he was fifteen his music life was put on hold when he destroyed a Bechstein piano while rewiring it. Waldeck later went to law school (though his heart was still with music). He finished law school and became a copyright lawyer.

          • Walden

            1. Walden is an 18 year old house/progressive-house music producer from Sydney's North Shore. 2. Walden are a folk duo comprised of two teenagers from East Boston.

          • Waldo's People

            Waldo's People consists of Waldo, who already had some success in a solo-career, and 4 singers : Charlie King, Monica and Jessica are from Sweden and Krista from Finland. The man that stands behind the project is the Finnish producer Ari Lehtonen who also stands behind the project Texmex (Crackcorn released in 1994). U Drive Me Crazy, with Nirvana's famous guitar riff, was the first video from Waldo's People. It was the first Finnish video included in MTV Nordic's daily video-rotation.

          • Wale

            Olubowale Victor Akintimehin Folarin (born September 21, 1984 in Washington, D.C.), better known by his stage name Wale, is an American rapper and producer. Fusing DC's homegrown go-go genre with a streetwise Northern hip-hop sensibility, he takes samples from all genres and blends them together with lyrical dexterity. In 2005 he released his debut mixtape, Paint a Picture, and has since released four more. His debut album, Attention Deficit, was released November 10, 2009.

          • Walk Off the Earth

            Walk Off the Earth is an indie rock band which formed in Burlington, Ontario, Canada in 2006. The band consists of Gianni Luminati, Mike Taylor, Joel Cassady, Sarah Blackwood and Ryan Marshall. Blackwood is also a member of the psychobilly band The Creepshow. The band has gained success around the world by making low-budget music videos of covers and originals and built their fan base independently with no help from record labels, booking agents or management.

          • Walk the Moon

            Two bands, listed below in chronological order, have used this name: 1. A duo consisting of Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider who released one self-titled album in 1987. The single "Daddy's Coming Home" received some alternative radio and MTV airplay. In 1990, Johannes and Shneider formed Eleven.

          • Walker Brothers

            The Walker Brothers was a 1960's pop group founded in California in 1964, that ultimately found fame and fortune in the UK rather than in their homeland. They had a number of top ten albums and singles in the UK during the period 1965-1968, including #1 chart hits with Make It Easy On Yourself and The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore), both of which also made the US top twenty. The trio of Scott Walker (Noel Scott Engel), Gary Walker (Gary Leeds, formerly of The Standells), and John Walker (John Maus, November 12, 1943 - May 7, 2011) moved from the U.S. to Britain in 1965.
